2022 Summer Sports & Enrichment Camps

We are thrilled to offer a variety of sports and enrichment camps in 2022! See below for camp descriptions, and scroll down to complete the Registration Form. Space is limited for each camp. Campers will receive a camp T-shirt. Registration is requested by May 13, 2022, to ensure adequate time for T-shirt ordering.

Sports Camps

Basketball Camp

Basketball Camp (June 13 - 15)
Cost: $60

Session 1 (Incoming 4th - 6th Grade Girls) - 5 - 7 p.m.
Session 2 (Incoming 7th - 9th Graders) - 7 - 9 p.m. (Incoming 9th graders must be attending Mercy McAuley next year.)

Join Mercy McAuley's new head varsity basketball coach, Jim Comarata, and players in our air-conditioned gym for skills and training in dribbling, rebounding, offense, defense, free throws, shooting, ball handling and game experience. Please bring a water bottle!

Soccer Camp

Soccer Camp (June 20 - 23)
Cost: $75

Session 1: (Incoming 2nd - 6th Grade Girls) - 4 - 6 p.m.
Session 2: (Incoming 7th - 9th Graders) 6 - 8 p.m. (Incoming 9th graders must be attending Mercy McAuley next year.)

Join Mercy McAuley's soccer coaches and players, who will provide technical training focused on dribbling, passing, shooting and more with basic individual and team tactics. Please bring your own water bottle, soccer ball, cleats and shin guards. The camp will take place on Mercy McAuley's soccer field in the back of the school.

Golf Camp

Golf Camp (June 28 - 30 / 9-11 a.m. at Meadow Links)
Incoming 5th-9th Grade Girls (Incoming 9th graders must be attending Mercy McAuley next year.)
Cost: $75

This camp is open to any level of golfer and will take place at Meadow Links! Each golfer will be asked to bring their own set of clubs. On the first two days of camp, Mercy McAuley coaches and players, as well as Head Pro at Meadow Links Golf Academy Mark Starr, will provide instruction. These lessons will include mechanics of short game (putting, chipping, pitching), long game (irons, woods, driving), course management, and proper golf etiquette. On the final day, we will hit the links, where campers will compete against one another and play with a current Mercy McAuley golfer!

Lacrosse Camp

Lacrosse Camp (July 11 - 14, 6 - 8 p.m.)
Incoming 5th - 9th Graders (Incoming 9th graders must be attending Mercy McAuley next year.)
Cost: $75

Learn the fundamentals of lacrosse with Mercy McAuley's lacrosse coaches and players! The camp will introduce the game, the rules, and basic playing strategies. Individual instruction in passing, catching, cradling and other techniques will be provided. Please bring your own stick, a standard mouth guard, and your own water bottle. The camp will take place on Mercy McAuley's lacrosse field in the back of school. Players of all experience levels are welcome!

Volleyball Camp

Volleyball Camp (July 18 - 21)
Cost: $75

Session 1: (Incoming 3rd - 5th Graders) - 1 - 3 p.m.
Session 2: (Incoming 6th - 9th Graders) - 4 - 6:30 p.m. (Incoming 9th graders must be attending Mercy McAuley next year.) THIS SESSION IS FULL & REGISTRATION FOR THIS SESSION IS CLOSED.

Join Mercy McAuley's volleyball coaches and players in our air-conditioned gym for individual instruction in serving, passing, ball control, setting, offense, defense, and game experience. Please bring your own water bottle.

Enrichment Camps

HSPT Prep Camp

HSPT Prep Camp (June 6 - 9, 9-11 a.m. & June 10, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Incoming 8th Grade Girls
Cost: $100

All Cincinnati Catholic High Schools will administer the High School Placement Test (HSPT) in November of 2022 for 8th grade students interested in applying to a Cincinnati Catholic High School. The HSPT is required to be considered for admission to any of the Cincinnati Catholic high schools. This year, the test will be given to 8th graders on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The HSPT Prep camp reviews academic content, teaches study skills, and helps ease anxiety toward the test. Campers will also take a full practice test on the last day, and a pizza lunch will be served afterwards. Campers will be given their own HSPT prep book to keep. The camp will be led by Mercy McAuley Math Teacher Mrs. Sam Duncan. An optional one-session refresher course will be held in the fall (date TBD) for those who participate in the summer camp.

Babysitting Camp

Babysitting Camp (June 6 & 7 from 9 a.m. - Noon & June 8 from 9 - 11 a.m.)
Girls & Boys age 11+
Cost:$85

Campers will participate in the Red Cross Babysitting Course and will become certified after learning babysitting, first aid and CPR skills. Campers must be present all three days to receive certification. The camp is led by Mercy McAuley’s retired health and physical education teacher, Ms. Velma Lehmann.

Art Camp: 3-D Under the Sea

Art Camp: 3-D Under the Sea (June 6 - 9 / 9 - 10:30 a.m.)
Incoming 1st - 4th Grade Girls & Boys
Cost: $65

This camp is for kids who likes to get messy with their hands! In this camp, led by Mercy McAuley Art Teacher Mrs. Natalie Fischer, we will work with a variety of materials from clay and glazes, wood, wire, paint and anything else the artist might need.

Day 1 - Campers will research different types of fish and create a slab relief sculpture.

Day 2 - Campers will research the environment their fish lives in and create a sculpture inspired by the habitat.

Day 3 - Campers will glaze their fish and plan for their display.

Day 4 - Campers will paint their habitat and assemble their display. From 10:30 - 11 a.m. there will be a mini art show for parents.

Art Camp: Summer Drawing

Art Camp: Summer Drawing (June 6 - 9 / 12:30-3 p.m.)
Incoming 5th-8th Grade Girls & Boys
Cost: $75

In this drawing camp, led by Mercy McAuley Art Teacher Mrs. Natalie Fischer, students will experience a variety of materials and will learn how to create their own still life drawing. They will explore several different drawing techniques and materials to create their own unique work of art.

Day 1 - Campers will participate in a materials workshop where they will have different drawing challenges to complete.

Day 2 - Students will plan their compositions and begin their drawings.

Days 3 & 4 - Students will continue to work on their drawings.

Ready...Set...Bake Camp

Service Camp

Service Camp (June 20 - 24 / 10 a.m. - Noon)
Incoming 6th-8th Grade Girls
Cost: $60

Service is one of the hallmarks of a Sisters of Mercy education. Join Mercy McAuley teachers, students and staff in serving our community through several fun, hands-on activities on the Mercy McAuley campus, such as planting flowers at the McAuley convent, baking cookies for local police and firefighters, hosting lunches with games and crafts for refugee children with Catholic Charities, painting a community mural, and more. Campers will have fun serving others and will see firsthand the positive impact they make on the community.

Musical Theatre Camp (Disney's High School Musical 2 Jr.)

Musical Theatre Camp - Disney's High School Musical 2 Jr. (June 27 - July 2)
     Monday - Friday (9 a.m.-3 p.m.)
     Saturday Rehearsal (2 - 7 p.m.)
     Saturday is Show Day! (7 p.m.)

Incoming 6th-8th Grade Girls & Boys
Cost: $150

Join Mercy McAuley Theater Director Ms. Katie Geckle for a week-long musical theatre camp! Participants will be mentored by Mercy McAuley theatre students as they prepare for a full production of Disney's High School Musical 2 Jr. at week’s end. Stage presence, singing, acting, auditioning, character work, and choreography are just a few of the topics we will cover. Students should pack a lunch each day.

STEM Camp

STEM Camp (July 12 - 14 / 9:30 a.m. - Noon)
Incoming 7th & 8th Grade Girls
Cost: $75

Are you creative or would like to be? Do you like designing and doing experiments? Would you enjoy using technology in unique and different ways to learn? If so, STEM Camp is for you! Each day you will explore and experience science, technology, engineering, and math applications through hands-on activities and mini-projects. You will work in teams and meet other students who share your interest in STEM, and leave with new friendships. The camp is led by Mercy McAuley science teacher, Mrs. Tracey McCall.

Leadership & YOU Camp

Leadership & YOU Camp (July 20 - 22 / 9:30 a.m. - Noon)
Incoming 7th - 9th Grade Girls
Cost: $65

Join Mercy McAuley Social Studies Teacher Mrs. Lisa Heiert and students for three interactive sessions focusing on women leaders throughout history and leadership skills development! Through engaging, fun, hands-on activities, campers will look back in history at the accomplishments of prominent women leaders. Campers will also explore how they can put their own talents and strengths to use in becoming leaders in their teams, schools, homes and communities. On the last day of camp, participants will take part in a community service project – proving how simple acts of leadership can make a big difference!
