June 26, 2020 Dear Parents,
Thank you to all who joined us last night for our virtual prayer service for peace and justice. Special thanks to our Inclusive Excellence Committee and students who coordinated the service and offered their reflections. A recording of the prayer service is found HERE for anyone who missed it last night. We look forward to engaging our school community of students, employees, parents, alumnae and friends in ongoing conversation, education and prayer. In the coming weeks, we will be scheduling virtual listening sessions starting with our students and alumnae. Details will be shared soon.
We continue to study several different re-opening options in response to the pandemic, all of which have the health and safety of our students and employees as the top priority. We do intend to start the school year on the originally scheduled date of August 13. Freshman orientation is still planned for August 10 and 11. We commit to keeping you updated as soon as the plans are finalized. Thank you for your patience.
We continue to keep all of you in our prayers, as we pray for the health and safety of our homes, our nation and our world.
Mercy and compassion always in our hearts,
Connie Kampschmidt
Summer Camps Update Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Volleyball, Lacrosse and Service Camps in July. The health and safety of our campers, students and staff are of utmost priority to us. Based on the necessary precautions that are needed, we do not feel we can offer the quality, hands-on experience that is characteristic of Mercy McAuley's camps. All who have registered for these camps will receive full refunds. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Our Test Prep Camp for 8th graders is still on as planned in July. We believe we can implement the necessary CDC guidelines and maintain effective social distancing with the format of this camp. Over the coming week, we will be reaching out separately to those who have registered for the Test Prep Camp with more specific camp details, including the safety measures that will be in place.
As we communicated back in May, all June camps, and the STEM Camp, were also canceled.
We look forward to offering a robust array of summer camps in 2021! If you have any questions, please contact Alli Miazga, Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator, at miazgaa@mercymcauley.org.

Return to Train - As a result of recent information received by both the OHSAA and the Governor's office, Mercy McAuley is pleased to communicate the overall Return to Train plan for athletics. The plan is based on recommendations from the Governor of Ohio, the OHSAA, and Mercy Health. Summer training varies for each sport, and head coaches are hard at work developing Return to Train plans for each program. Those final plans will be communicated via email in the coming days and weeks. Please take time to review the plan FOUND HERE as well as the letter from Mercy Health, our sports medicine provider, which has updates regarding Training Room procedures. This is an exciting time for all our athletes and coaches, and we appreciate your support throughout this process.

Message from the Finance Office Regarding COVID-19 Challenges Compassion is a core Mercy value, and one that Catherine McAuley lived every day. At Mercy McAuley High School, we endeavor to continue Catherine's legacy of compassion as we navigate the difficult challenges presented by COVID-19. We recognize that some of you have suffered job loss or income reductions due to the stay-at-home order. We also recognize that this may create difficulty maintaining your normal tuition payment plan schedule. Some families are fortunate to have sufficient financial resources to maintain their current payment schedules, some may only need payment deferrals or date changes, but others may require more profound support such as additional financial aid. Our finance team is available to work with you as much as we can through this difficult time regardless of your situation. Please don't hesitate to contact Lisa Folzenlogen, Tuition Coordinator, at folzenlogenl@mercymcauley.org if you have any questions or requests to either modify your current payment schedule or to apply for emergency financial aid. These are unprecedented times, and our Mercy McAuley family will get through this together.
Attention Parents of Incoming Seniors All students entering the 12th grade for the 2020-21 school year must have a second dose of meningococcal vaccine (MCV4). The second dose must be administered on or after the 16th birthday. If the first dose of meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) was given on or after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required. Documentation with the Month/Date/Year of both meningococcal vaccines must be submitted to our school nurse, Kathleen Johnson, prior to the first day of school.
