July 9, 2021 Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4 holiday! Here at Mercy McAuley, we are busy getting ready to welcome our new and returning Wolves for the 2021-22 school year! Our detailed school calendar is now on our website HERE. This version will be updated throughout the year, so be sure to check it often! A 1-page overview calendar with key dates, but less detail, can be found HERE.
Student schedules for sophomores, juniors and seniors will be sent by email the first week in August, and the schedules for the freshmen will be distributed during the 3-hour tablet orientation.
I am thrilled to introduce two of our newest team members - Kevin Brinkman, Director of Admissions, and Andrea Bohlen, Director of the Ardú Program. See below for more information about each of them, and please join me in welcoming them to our school community! They are looking forward to meeting our students and families soon!
Each year, we will be focusing on one of the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy. This year, the focus is on the Critical Concern of Immigration. This summer, all students are required to read Enriques's Journey, by Sonia Nazario. Parents are also encouraged to read the book. Class and all-school projects and activities throughout the year will focused on the book and immigration. See below for more details about the homework assignment associated with this book.
Have a wonderful weekend!
"Resolve to be good today, and better tomorrow." -Catherine McAuley
Mercy and compassion always in our hearts,
Connie Kampschmidt Principal
