October 29, 2021 Dear Parents,
*Reminder - Monday is a Wolves Wellness Day for all students; there is no school on Monday.
This week, the Ohio Department of Health released new quarantine guidelines for schools. The new guidelines state that students who are exposed to COVID-19 no longer have to quarantine; instead they are required to wear masks for a period of time following the exposure. Please see the revised guidelines HERE. Beginning November 1, masks will no longer be required at Mercy McAuley. Students may opt to wear masks if they choose. If Mercy McAuley should see a rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, we could decide to require masks again if needed. Thank you for your cooperation.
As I mentioned in previous issues of the parent e-news, each of the 54 schools that are part of Mercy Education are adopting shared Core Values to build a consistent Mercy Education identity (see orange circular graphic below). Our Core Values are the hallmarks of a Mercy Education. They are the ideals we stand up for and strive to live up to. We hold ourselves to these standards as an institution, as a community, and as individuals. Each value is interconnected and necessary as we take Mercy into the world.
Each week, we will "introduce" one of the new Core Values in this newsletter to help you become familiar with them. This week we are focusing on the Core Value of Educational Courage; see below for an explanation of its meaning.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
Mercy and compassion always in our hearts,
Connie Kampschmidt Principal
Possible Upcoming Traffic Implications This week we received notice that Cincinnati Water Works will be replacing pipes in locations around school on Oakwood Avenue, North Bend, and other nearby streets. This work could impact school traffic and/or street parking. At this time, we do not know when this work will begin, but we will keep you and our students informed as we learn more.
Order Uniform Sweatpants Next Week Uniform sweatpants are now permitted to be worn underneath the uniform skirt beginning December 1. The only sweatpants that may be worn are the new official uniform sweatpants. The new uniform sweatpants must be pre-ordered in order to guarantee that you receive the size and quantity you would like. We are taking orders next week ONLY. Orders will take place in the student lobby outside of the cafeteria Tuesday - Friday. We will have various sizes available to try on to ensure you order the size you need. There will only be a small amount of extra pairs ordered, so if your daughter wants uniform sweatpants, it is strongly recommended that she pre-order them. The pants are $30 each and must be paid for at the time of ordering. We will accept cash, check or credit card.
