November 5, 2021 Dear Parents,
November is here, and this month is a time for all of us to give thanks! This week, we kicked off our annual Thanksgiving meal drive, where our students collect items to make full Thanksgiving meals to donate to Christ's Community in College Hill. See below for the full list of items needed to make one meal. Thank you in advance for any items you can donate to help our neighbors in need enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. All items are due by November 18.
November also means that the cold weather may soon be on its way! Please see the important reminders below regarding snow delays and cancellations.
As I mentioned in previous issues of the parent e-news, each of the 54 schools that are part of Mercy Education are adopting shared Core Values to build a consistent Mercy Education identity (see orange circular graphic below). Our Core Values are the hallmarks of a Mercy Education. They are the ideals we stand up for and strive to live up to. We hold ourselves to these standards as an institution, as a community, and as individuals. Each value is interconnected and necessary as we take Mercy into the world.
Each week, we will "introduce" one of the new Core Values in this newsletter to help you become familiar with them. This week we are focusing on the Core Value of Inspired by Faith; see below for an explanation of its meaning.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mercy and compassion always in our hearts,
Connie Kampschmidt Principal
Reminders About Snow Closings & Delays With winter quickly approaching, we would like to remind all parents of a few items regarding snow closings and delays. Mercy McAuley determines its own status for snow closings and delays; we do NOT follow Northwest Local School District. In the event of a delay or closing at Mercy McAuley due to inclement weather, we will notify all parents via phone, text and email. We also typically post the information on our website and on our social media sites. If you have recently changed your email address or cell number, please inform Sharon Kroger at krogers@mercymcauley.org to ensure we have the most up to date contact information for you. Thank you for your cooperation.
