January 24, 2019 Dear Mercy McAuley Community,
"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:25
What a joy it is to come to a place every day where learning and growth are happening all around us! What a blessing to see the dignity of young women inspired to take on their futures with gusto each day!
I know I speak with confidence for each of us who are here every day, that we are blessed with this opportunity to live our Catholic, Mercy values as witnessed through our students. Years ago, as a student at Mother of Mercy High School, I already had a vague sense that a Mercy Education would leave a positive imprint on my life. However, it's only looking backward and in the faces of our Wolves that I can see clearly how that path has led me back to the fullest circle—the Circle of Mercy. I sincerely hope that when our graduates reflect on their high school years, they discover that what was there then, is still there now, working in each of us!
Last week, we were proud to offer admission acceptance to hundreds of future Wolves who will make up the Class of 2023. In our Community that is "becoming," our first-year students offer us an annual reason to confirm who we are and who we want to be as Mercy McAuley High School. We are awaiting their arrival with anticipation and excitement—ready to offer them hospitality and guide them upon the path to becoming Women of Mercy! Welcome, Wolves! You will make us and shape us with your uniqueness and gifts. Join us in offering a prayer for the Class of 2023, so that they may have confidence in themselves and in their decision.
Next week, we will celebrate Catholic Schools Week. This is a week that marks a midpoint in our academic year, and also reconnects us with our Catholic brothers and sisters around our community. Mercy McAuley will celebrate with a number of activities and events. You are invited to join us in spirit and in participation leading up to and throughout the week:
Finally, I would like to express my personal gratitude to each and every donor who took the opportunity to make a gift to fund our mission at Mercy McAuley in 2018! Our Annual Fund appeal was very successful, and we are proud to have launched our new 1831 Society for $1,000+ donors at December's first-ever "Club Christmas" event. We are especially grateful to our many donors who returned to giving after having been away for a bit; we are heartened by your faith in our mission, our young women and in Mercy Education in Cincinnati. Sincerely,
Patty Lusheck Ragio Mercy McAuley High School 6000 Oakwood Avenue • Cincinnati, OH 45224 • (513) 681-1800 |
